We offer wide range of services from our complex. In addition to the daily prayers, we have: advice and counselling; education for children and adults; services related to birth, marriage and death; and many more.
Our partnerships with Tower Hamlets Council, the local Primary Care Trust, The East London Communities Organisation (TELCO), Tower Hamlets Interfaith Forum, the Metropolitan Police and many others have helped contribute towards improvements in education, health provision, environment, and community cohesion.

The East London Mosque has a rich history dating back to 1910, when the London Mosque Fund was created to establish a place of worship for Muslims in London. After years of effort, the first mosque opened in 1941 in Commercial Road, London E1. As the Muslim community grew, so did the mosque's needs.
In 1985, the iconic East London Mosque opened on Whitechapel Road, becoming a landmark in London’s East End. Since then, major developments have followed — including the London Muslim Centre (2004) and the Maryam Centre (2013), and the purchase of the great Synagogue building, providing more space and services for the growing community.
Today, the Mosque stands as one of the UK’s leading Islamic centres — not just for prayer, but for education, support services, and community development.
